If you’re joining from Joanna’s tour, you should know, I don’t normally start a story with my husband and I had an argument but this must be our best one yet because it led to his most genius idea. Haha!
One of the biggest arguments my husband and I had a few years ago was over putting our tree up. Tis the season right? Well, I had asked him to make one of those things with the PVC pipe and he didn’t get to do it. You know when you ask over and over…no, just me? So after kindly telling him all his faults, he walked outside and came back in with the most genius idea ever...
THE UMBRELLA STAND.
We stacked it on bricks and that was it! It was the perfect way to add the character I wanted without the price or hassle!
We have continued to use this the past three years ago and it has worked every time! We only have a seven foot tree but we live in an old house with tall ceilings and this works just fine. I love this tree we found on Craigslist (also years ago) and that it does not overpower the room.
We, honestly, have kept things so simple this year…I haven’t even decorated my kitchen on my dining room or my staircase (which is normally my favorite!) but we have decorate our bedroom. I had planned on sharing that with you, too, but I haven’t gotten a chance to take my kids pictures jumping on the bed so I will have to share that ASAP!
Don’t forget to head to The DIY Mommy’s page tomorrow!
Thanks for joining us here!
Be sure to save these for later!
